Beirne Lay Jr. during [[United States Army Air Corps|USAAC]] flight training Beirne Lay Jr. (September 1, 1909 – May 26, 1982) was an American writer, aviation writer, Hollywood screenwriter, and combat veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army Air Forces.
