Author Notes:	Interior Designer Sharne Algotsson is an advocate for African inspired home decorating. She would like African design to be as familiar to the American market as it is internationally, a comfortable alternative to English country, French provincial, and other accepted styles. The Spirit of African Design is the book Algotsson has co-authored with Denys Davis, another African-American. This book is an eloquently written and beautifully illustrated guide to bringing African art and design into everyday spaces. She has also been writer/editor of periodical articles which about design. Algotsson owns a consulting firm, Inside Design, located in Philadelphia. Before establishing her own business, she worked for IKEA, an international interior design chain, and contributed to their unique design approach store catalog.
