Author Notes:	Consuelo de Saint-Exupery wrote "The Tale of the Rose" in 1945, with the pain of loss still fresh in her heart. The manuscript was sealed away in a locked trunk on her estate, & found by chance, fifteen years after her death, when an academic was digging around for fresh material for a new biography of Saint-Exupery. She died in 1979 & left her estate, & the proceeds from her share of "The Little Prince", to her gardener. (Bowker Author Biography)
