Jessica Fletcher has booked a one-week cruise through Alaska in order to enjoy some solitude. Her plans are thwarted when Kathy Randall asks to accompany her. Kathy's sister, Wilimena, recently disappeared from the same cruise ship Jessica is booked to travel on. Kathy thinks her disappearance is linked to the past murder of a gold miner. Their only clue an envelope full of credit card receipts, Jessica and Kathy embark on an adventure to find Wilimena and a fabled gold treasure.
