The authors are both nationally known carvers with numerous awards to their credit. In 2001, Vic Hood was selected to create a Christmas ornament for the White House and currently teaches carving classes at major workshops around the country. Jack A. Williams has been carving for more than 30 years, and his artistic talents have been demonstrated with several Best in Show awards for caricature carving and wildfowl carving. Jack coordinates the woodcarving show at Dollywood, which hosts The Great Pumpkin Carving Competition
