Actually, Luke hiccupped and headed down the sidewalk toward Mr. Leery's house. Natalie and Penny followed. But the kids didn't get far. As they turned the corner onto Rim Drive, the street they lived on, they heard a limb crack overhead. Penny looked up and screamed. Three ugly beasts stared down at them. They were small monkey-like creatures with pointed ears, yellow eyes, and slobber dripping from their snarling mouths. A huge blob of slobber fell from the biggest creature's mouth and splatted right on Natalie's head.
