Ruby Lu, Brave and True was named an ALA-ALSC Notable Children's Book and Ruby Lu, Empress of Everything , also an ALA-ALSC Notable Children's Book, was deemed "exuberant" in a School Library Journal starred review and received a Gryphon Honor.
