Sheen later starred in two films directed by Oliver Stone, Platoon in 1986 and Wall Street in 1987 (with his father, Martin Sheen, playing the role of the character's father). In 1994 he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, on Hollywood Boulevard. In 2002 Sheen won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television series for Spin City.
