Randy Wayne White was born in 1950 in Ohio. He starting working for the Fort Myers News Press after graduating high school. He then got himself a captain's license and bought a used charter boat. He operated as a light tackle fishing guide at the Tarpon Bay Marina on Sanibel Island for several years. He is now a writer of crime fiction and non-fiction. Several of his titles have made the New York Times best-seller list and he has received awards for his fiction works and television documentary.
