From WHATEVER AFTER #2: IF THE SHOE FITS I glance around. We're surrounded by coats. Wait a sec. "We're in a closet! A coat closet, I think." The door is slightly ajar, and a stream of light is shining in. "Do you hear music?" Jonah nods. I peek out the door at a woman and her escort. Her dress is fancy. It has shiny beads and sequins, and a huge poofy skirt. She's wearing a ball gown. Which makes this a ball. "Jonah! Look at her dress! Do you know what this means?" "You're really, really underdressed?" "Besides that. We're at a ball. We went through the mirror, but we're not in Snow White's story. We're at a ball and there's a prince. A prince looking for a wife. We're in--" His eyes light up. "Mars? Oh, no! Buckingham Palace?" I smile. "No, Jonah. Cinderella."
