There, they could work on the country's woefully battered environment. The CCC became Roosevelt's most successful New Deal Program. From 1933 to 1942, the young men replanted the nation's forests, cheked soil erosion, stopped the scourge of forest fires, built recreation sites through out the land, and completed countless other projects.
