Author Notes: Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born in the Bronx, New York on July 24, 1969. She is an actress, author, fashion designer, dancer, producer, singer, and songwriter. In 1991, she was selected as a backup dancer for the New Kids on the Block and performed with them during their performance at the 8th Annual American Music Awards. Shortly after, she became a Fly Girl dancer on the television program In Living Color. She remained a regular until she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. In 1997, she played Selena in a 1997 biopic of the Latina singer. Lopez became the first Latina actress to earn over $1 million for a role the following year, with the film Out of Sight. In 1999, with her debut studio album, On the 6, she joined a select few in successfully converting from a film to a music career.

Beyond entertainment, Lopez has a highly successful business career, consisting of various clothing lines, accessories, fragrances, a production company, television shows and a charitable foundation. Her autobiography, True Love, was published in 2014.
