Author Notes: Nick Offerman was born in Minooka, Illinois on June 26, 1970. He received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1993. He is an actor, and carpenter. He is best known for the role of Ron Swanson in the NBC series Parks and Recreation. He has also appeared in several films including Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, The Men Who Stare at Goats, The Kings of Summer, and We're the Millers. He is the owner of the Offerman Woodshop, where he builds canoes and dining room tables. He released an instructional DVD in 2008 entitled Fine Woodstrip Canoe Building with Nick Offerman. His first book, Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living, was published in 2013 and made The New York Times Best Seller List in 2015.
