Author Notes:The photo is of me, Your Bones co-author Lara, aged 60, on a 2009 Mother's Day hike in Stehekin, Washington. I was diagnosed with osteopenia in my very early 50s. Today, I have strong, healthy bones, which I credit to having done everything recommended in this book. I am genetically at very high risk for osteoporosis, but I will now be the first woman in my family in all the generations I know about not to die an osteoporosis-related death. You, too, can have strong, healthy bones for life.
