Summary: Based on the fake trailer Rodriguez made for inclusion in the movie Grindhouse, Machete tells the story of a Mexican Federale. Years ago in Mexico, Machete was double-crossed by his boss, resulting in his wife and child being murdered before his eyes by drug kingpin Torrez, and Machete himself beaten, shot, and left for dead. Now, Machete resurfaces in Austin, Texas, working day labor when he's hired to assassinate Senator McLaughlin, an extreme advocate against illegal immigration. Once again betrayed and set-up, Machete plots his revenge against the men who've wronged him with the help of resistance fighter Luz, ICE Agent Sartana, and his shotgun-toting brother, Padre (who really is a priest!). Machete lays waste to anything that gets in his path. As he takes on hit men, vigilantes and a ruthless drug cartel, bullets fly, blades clash and the body count rises. Any way you slice it, vengeance has a new name: Machete.
