Author Notes: Steven Furtick was born on February 19, 1980 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He felt called to be a pastor at age 16. He is a graduate of North Greenville University (B.A. in Communications) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Masters of Divinity). In February 2006, he opened the Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2007 it was considered one of the top 100 fastest growing churches in the country.
