Author Notes: Deborah Griffiths is owner of GNG Communications Inc. During her years of experience as a museum director, curator, and author, she's written numerous grant applications for small- to mid-size rural and remote communities, and has experience in special projects both in Canada and the US. She's also worked with funding agencies to review and summarize grant applications from communities. Griffiths has a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University; has authored five books; and was a 2016 finalist in the BCHF's Lieutenant Governor's award for historic writing.
