Something that looked smallswam up from the bottom. It swam past a squid. It swam past a turtlewith a shell as largeas the hood of a car.It swam towarda school of fish. The swimmerdid not seemto be an enemy. It was not a big hunterlike a sharkor a mosasaur. So the fish kept eating. The swimmer got closer.A small headon a long neckdarted at a fish.It grabbed the fishwith sharp, thin teeth. It gulped the meal downin one bite. Excerpted from Plesiosaur by Sarah L.
