Author Notes: Kirsten Gillibrand received a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in 1988 and a law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1991. Before becoming a member of Congress, she worked as an attorney in New York. She served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing New York's 20th Congressional District. She has been U.S. Senator from New York since 2009. Her first book, Off the Sidelines: Raise Your Voice, Change the World, was published in 2014.
