Author Notes: Ted Cruz , U.S. senator for Texas, has dedicated his life to upholding the principles enshrined in our Constitution. After graduating from Princeton and Harvard Law School, he clerked for Chief Justice Rehnquist and later served as solicitor general of Texas.
