Urban cowboy

Bud Davis, a Texas oil refinery worker, meets and falls in love with Sissy at Gilley's, a popular country-western nightclub in Houston. However, their relationship becomes endangered when a mechanical bull-riding ex-convict schemes to steal Sissy's heart.

Author Notes: Television and motion picture actor John Travolta was born in Englewood, New Jersey on February 18, 1954. He dropped out of school when he was 16 to become an actor.

Travolta starred as Vinnie Barbarino in the sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, and has appeared in a wide array of movies, including Carrie, The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, Saturday Night Fever (for which he received an Oscar nomination), Grease, Urban Cowboy, Look Who's Talking, Pulp Fiction, Face\Off, A Civil Action and The General's Daughter.
