Billy's grandfather promises the lad that God will meet him halfway if he believes in himself and his beloved dogs. Billy faces adventure, suspense, tragedy and ultimately, a love and loyalty of family and friendship to realize his dream. Where the red fern grows 2 : The classic story continues as Billy Coleman returns from WWII to his grandfather's home in Louisiana and tries to readjust to civilian life after the traumas of war. Grandpa has a pair of Redbone hound puppies waiting for Billy just like the ones he had as a boy; and the hounds and a young neighborhood boy named Wilson become Billy's closest friends and together they help Billy to rediscover the gift of giving and caring. |
