Author Notes: Children's writer Ronda Armitage was born in Kaikoura, New Zealand, on March 11, 1943. She was educated at Hamilton Teacher's College, the University of Auckland, and Massey University.

She worked as a teacher and librarian.

Her first novel The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch (1977) won the Esther Glen Award from the Library and Information Association of New Zealand.
