Description
Summary:"When the William Maclay chapter was formed, a few years ago, it seemed to the men of that chapter that they should do something more than merely keep alive the memories of their ancestors. . . . It could issue historical matter concerning the early days of this immediate region -- central Pennsylvania. But how could it bring that material to the attention of the greatest possible number of persons? Fortunately, the Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation offered free time for a series of historical broadcasts over WKOK. Such a series was planned, outstanding men of the region were induced to prepare the talks, and so the story of our locaity was unfolded, beginning in September, 1948 and ending in April, 1949. . . . So, after again bringing this material to the attention of the public through the kind cooperation of the Sunbury Daily Item and the Union County Standard-Journal, the WIlliam Maclay Chapter now offeres this valuable material in book form."--Foreword.
