| Summary: | "Follow dragon-expert Miriam and curious Celeste on a magical winter's day walk through their garden, where a snow dragon just might be hiding! Just as Miriam and Celeste head out for a walk in their glittering, hoarfrost-covered garden, they are interrupted by a deep, grumbling sound. "Did you hear that?!" said Miriam. "That was the roar of a snow dragon." Miriam considers herself an expert on dragons, and as the sisters continue on their walk, Celeste peppers her with questions. Miriam is more than happy to show off her snow dragon knowledge: you won't see any snow dragons around because they use camouflage to disguise themselves as snowbanks. You won't find any tracks either, because they prefer to fly. And instead of regular fire, they breathe a different kind of fire: frostfire. Miriam seems to have an answer for everything about snow dragons. But when Celeste wanders off, she has a magical encounter that changes everything she thought she knew. Told through gently playful sibling dialogue and spectacular works of paper diorama art, Elly Mackay's newest picture book is an enchanting wintertime adventure destined to become a classic seasonal fairy tale that readers will enjoy for years to come."-- |
