Description
Summary:"In 2011 the Clinton County Genealogical Society published the Clinton County Civil War Trilogy which contains an 'abridged and reconstructed 1890 Census' based on the Civil War Veterans families. That document covered the entire county with 13% of the 1890 Census but fell far short of the mark. So for the past 12 years I have worked on expanding that aforementioned document, to what is presented through the graciousness of the Clinton County Genealogical Society, in hopes that it will provide a valuable tool for our fellow researchers. . . . What you will find in this document is the following information: The head of the family, the individual's of the family's names and relationship to the head of house; the individual ages, sexes, races and marital status; the place of birth for each listed individual and their father's and mother's as well. Some surnames have multiple spelling while pronounced are similar and surname have See Also listings[sic]. For the Civil War Veterans or their widows, the Veteran is marked with asterisks and immediately below his census information is his Civil War criterion such as his unit and his rank. Then the family, if any, names begin and their relationship to the veteran. If his widow has remarried it too is marked up as a See Also directing the researcher to the identity of her remarriage."--Paul W. Bennett, Introduction to the Clinton County 1890 Abridged Census.
