Description
Summary:"While out for a walk one day, Willa and Wade come across a curiosity (a fancy button). What is it, they wonder? "It's so sparkly," says Wade. "It looks very olden," says Willa. They ponder its origins, then decide that it is most certainly a treasure -- and perhaps it even belongs in a museum! What to do with it, they wonder ... After some serious thought, the two friends decide to put the treasure in a museum -- their very own museum, which Willa and Wade will make all by themselves! So they start building. They turn an open cardboard box on its side, and place the button inside. "Hmm," they say. "It feels like it's missing something ..." says Willa." Don't museums usually have more than one treasure?" This gives Wade an idea: They'll fill the museum with all of their most prized possessions!: Wade's favourite rock, Willa's dinosaur (obviously!), and an original piece of contemporary art, painted by the one-and-only Wade. Ta-da! Presenting ... The Museum of Willa and Wade! (MOWW for short.) After all their hard work, it's time for a snack, and that gets Willa and Wade thinking again ... Maybe their museum needs a café? And a gift shop? And now that all that has been decided, a Grand Opening seems in order. The MOWW Grand Opening attracts a lot of animal visitors, and many of them are quite impressed -- but there are a lot questions ("Where are the dinosaur bones?" "We have a whole dinosaur!") and one particularly vocal critic ("That just looks like a fancy button to me. Is this even a real museum?") As the visitors munch on snacks in the "café," they start to contemplate their own treasures and what they might put into a museum (an acorn, a beetle carcass, a dandelion fluff, a really old front tooth ...) All in all, it's been a great day and, as Willa and Wade reflect on what they've accomplished, they start to dream of their next adventure."--Provided by publisher.
