| Summary: | Meet the most adorable babies in the sea, from tiny seahorses to giant whale calves, in this stunning picture book from National Geographic Kids! Dive into Earth's biggest nursery--the ocean!--where young creatures are born, cared for, and begin their incredible lives. With lyrical prose and breathtaking photography, kids will meet ocean babies from sharks and seals to jellyfish, corals, and seahorses in this picture book celebration of the ocean's baby animals. Readers will discover how sea families feed, cuddle, and play in habitats from coral reefs to polar seas, all while acknowledging how these ocean families are not always so different from their own. Renowned oceanographer Sylvia Earle and acclaimed National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry combine their expertise to bring this beautiful picture book to life. Earle's deep knowledge of the sea and Skerry's breathtaking, up-close photography capture ocean life in incredible detail, giving kids a front-row seat to the wonders of Earth's most important nursery. |

He spends months at a time in the field, and in the course of any given year frequently finds himself in environments of extreme contrast from tropical coral reefs to diving beneath Arctic ice. An award-winning photographer, Skerry continues to pursue stories that will increase awareness about the sea. |
