Author Notes: Jessica Doyle-Mekkes is the head of musical theatre at East Carolina University, where she has taught since 2017. A vocal coach, researcher, accomplished performer, and sought-after clinician and speaker, she has spent the last fifteen years studying the power of the human voice. She lives in Greenville, North Carolina, with her husband Don, their daughters Tallulah and Jolie, and a codependent chihuahua named Sebastian.
