Author Notes: Jillian Michaels was born in Los Angeles, California on February 18, 1974. She has over 15 years of martial arts practice in Muay Thai and Akarui-Do. Since 1993, she has held 2 personal training certificates from the leading certification programs in the country: the National Endurance and Strength Training Association and the American Fitness Association of America. She is best known as a strength trainer and life coach for the NBC series The Biggest Loser.

She has written several books including The Master Your Metabolism Cookbook, Master Your Metabolism, Making the Cut, Winning by Losing, and Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life. She also has several DVDs including Yoga Meltdown, 30-Day Shred, No More Trouble Zones, and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism.
