Author Notes: Tami A. Ross, RD, LD, CDE, MLDE, is a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator, and nationally recognized speaker, consultant, and health and nutrition writer from Lexington, KY. She is past president of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and was honored as Diabetes Educator of the Year in 2008 by the Diabetes Care and Education dietetic practice group. Tami writes for professional and lay publications and has co-authored nine books.
Patti B. Geil, MS, RD, CDE, MLDE, FANDA, FAADE, was a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator, and author who enjoyed translating the science of nutrition into the art of great eating. Patti was a nationally recognized diabetes and nutrition expert with over 30 years of experience with diabetes education in a variety of settings. She authored 12 books and numerous professional and consumer articles and was a key opinion leader and sought-after speaker. Patti passed away in September 2014.
